Can I call it or what?
My boss is moving (back) to Canada at the end of the month.
The new hire is a full-time guy, I think a permanent employee, who, I'm told, has a deep background in both SQL and in statistical modeling.
Last but not least, it occurs to me that I haven't actually been on contract for months now, they've just been giving me checks. With new people signing the invoices (rather than my boss), this is likely to be called into question. Of course, in more general terms, so is the idea of a "data gopher" hired on a temporary contract. Most of what I'm doing has devolved to ad hoc queries and manually kicking off things that should be automated.
I'm going to start planning as I'm going to be leaving at the end of the month, too, even if I'm not going to be moving to Canada. (Too much snow, eh?)
