Woo, I’m mentioned by name on the front page of Nisus Software’s website, at least at this moment.

I realize this is only impressive to a limited subset of people, but hey, it makes me happy.

ATPM has indicated an interest in having me do other things, and possibly review another word processor for Mac OS X called “Mellel,” which is intriguing and in some ways more powerful than Nisus Writer Express despite being lower-cost. But when I’ve used it in the past, it’s quirked me out—it seems that for every given task they ask, “How can we do this differently than Microsoft Word does?” Ten points for thinking outside the box, but fifteen demerits for failing to recognize that sometimes Word does things the logical way.

I’m not sure what the best way to approach writing a review is when I’ve settled on the competitor already. Easier than trying to figure out how to write the article on “writers’ word processors” that seem to be popular in the Mac cottage software market right now, though, since the thesis of that article would be that the people coming up with those word processors don’t know nearly as much about what writers actually want in a word processor as they think they do…

Congratulations!

And that's an excellent, and well-balanced review.

Well I think it's pretty cool. Way to go. :)

As for the review itself, it seems well written to me. Although of course I don't really know a Mac document editor from an assembly language compiler.
