Notes from the road

chipotleMore literally than usual this time, as I'm posting from the iPhone. I am at a beachside restaurant called the Beach House. The common wisdom is that the closer you get to the water in beach towns, the worse the food is; I am braving this anyway in the hopes of proving it wrong. I intended to have seafood but switched to breakfast after observing that's what everyone else seemed to be getting here: that's often a sign.
I have no good reason to be here. I need to practice photography a little more again; my photos from Hakone Gardens weren't very good. So I set out with the intent of finding places to photograph. I've taken a few, but I don't find the coast as photogenic in practice as I keep imagining it will be.
The food here is, for what it's worth, ...okay. Except for the homemade muffin, which was terrible. Well, you can't win 'em all, I guess.
At any rate, onward. I may go down the coast a little more but I have things to do at home (and I am traveling without the laptop today).
