I don't think a "genre magazine" would occur to her as a market. I could be wrong. While I've been a bit snarky, I'll admit in conversation she doesn't seem like a bad sort--she just reminds me of some Very Very Feminist professors and academics I've known over the years. I don't think anyone can accuse me of not liking strong female characters, but I don't hate my male characters. (Were I trying to do a feminist analysis of my own writing, I'd note that most of my stories are romances in which, even though the women are strong and self-sufficient, the story frequently hinges on them being saved---figuratively or literally--by the "average guy" men. Gloria Steinem would be disappointed.)
