Sounds like an accurate assessment of the situation to me. Definitely time to start the hunt in earnest for the next job. Having been on both sides of the management fence through similar situations in the past the only thing you can expect to hear from the upper echelons is useless drivel as they try to keep the business salable while they prepare to jump ship.
