Well, Googling isn't guaranteed to find it, actually: my full name doesn't appear on the journal, only my first name. It may not be worth the effort anyway, though, since it'll only "hide" the first entry unless I delink the journal from the home page completely. Which I've considered. I've removed direct links from my site to stories, though, and grudgingly removed the word "furry" from the bibliography page. My "professional" portfolio site doesn't link back to the personal page at all and hasn't for a while.
I know this isn't going to stop anyone who digs more than a couple links deep from putting that all together, but it may be what a long-ago boss described as the art of the mutually unacceptable compromise: nobody's particularly happy with it, which may mean it's as good as you're gonna get. I don't really want to make it difficult for fans to find out stuff.
I suppose as long as the "top" journal entry doesn't have a lot of kvetching or overt wierdness that'll be sufficient. I guess I have to tacitly rely on any recruiter doing this search to not be patient enough to read far back in the journal.
