This one’s been floating around my friends list the past couple of days. It’s a little amusing because it’s so much of a “best guess” thing—I don’t know what DVDs and books any of you guys own, for goodness’ sake. But anyway…

A book you own that no one on your friends list does:

Kitsune: Japan’s fox of mystery, romance and humor by Kiyoshi Nozaki would be a good candidate, because it’s apparently exceedingly rare. For non-rare books that I don’t think most people on my friends list would have, perhaps High Tide in Tucson by Barbara Kingsolver.

A CD you own that no one on your friends list does:

Probably Emmylou Harris and Linda Rondstadt’s Western Wall: The Tucson Sessions would be a good candidate, or Matraca Berg’s Lying to the Moon and Other Stories. (If anyone else I know listens to alternative country, they haven’t admitted it.)

A DVD/VHS tape you own that no one on your friends list does:

Probably “Smoke Signals.”

A place you’ve been that no one on your friends list has been:

The Rosehill Cemetery in Meridian, Mississippi to visit the grave of the king of the gypsies.

It's about the most obscure DVD I own. I only own a few DVDs and no VHSes (and don't own any laserdiscs anymore, not that I had more than about four), so that's a difficult question. I'd suspect [livejournal.com profile] cooner owns "The Hudsucker Proxy." I don't know if anyone else on my list owns "Annie Hall," but it's hardly an unknown film.

I think the only thing I have that no one else on my friends list would have is Forbidden Planet.
