Well, err, yup? Can't say I've gotten to do very complex things with it yet, but I've prodded it in various ways and submitted a patch or two, if that counts.
That would potentially count, yes. :) I'm using Django for Claw & Quill, to the degree anything is done (which is less than I'd like). I'm not really trying to actively recruit new coders, but it's occurring to me that it may be a little ambitious to try to do everything myself.
Okay, then I'll give you my email address in private message. If you hit a snag or get confused about something, be it with Django itself or with Python in general, drop me a line, I'll be happy to give you a hand. :) HTML/CSS/JavaScript are way out of my zone of comfort, though, so I can't help with that.
I don't know it at all, I'm afraid. I heard the people running the FA art site wanted to rebuild the site's code from the ground up in a collaborative effort using Django, but that the group's members aren't getting along any more, or so the rumour mill has it.
No, they wanted to roll out a custom thing based on something other entirely, though still Python. The project was never really active, though. Communications were either on IRC or by leaving notes on a Wiki, which I think didn't foster the sort of responsive development environment that makes a project work out, IMHO.
FA's "Ferrox" project is using a similar system called Pylons, to fill in what Balinares said. The Ferrox project is still underway, although I think a year or two ago most of the team quit to go do something else and a new team started led by Eevee. According to their Twitter tracking stream, though, Eevee just resigned as of 3/17. So. Hmm.
